You can still find joy with your loved one with Alzheimer’s. I had to shift my mindset when visiting her at her memory care facility. We would listen to music, do puzzles, and just be. I would show her pictures of her horses and hold her hand.

My mom love horses. She had one starting at the young age of 10. Mom rode, competed, and breed horses up until her diagnosis at 64. They were her babies.

Mom helped my dad start a successful landscaping business in the ’80s. It’s still up and running and managed by my brother and husband.

My mom and I enjoyed shopping and cooking together.
